Faded Printer Output - Check Weak Color Channels
Faded output can affect one channel or the entire print. The diagnostic page separates the channels so gross reductions are easier to identify.
Fast path: print the standardized sheet, photograph the complete page, and let the browser measure the known test zones.
Relative, not calibrated color
The browser compares each printed swatch with nearby paper white. It is meant to detect large reductions, not judge professional color accuracy.
Use even light
A strong shadow across the test page can make a healthy channel appear weak. Retake the photo if the analysis-quality score is low.
Check supplies and settings too
Before assuming hardware failure, confirm the correct media type, normal print quality and adequate ink according to the printer’s own status tools.
How to run the test
- Print the official sheet at 100% / Actual Size, Color, Plain Paper, Normal quality.
- Place the full sheet on a dark surface in even light.
- Take a sharp photo with all four paper edges visible.
- Upload it to the browser analyzer.
- Make one conservative change, then retest using the same settings.
