Faded Printing? Check Whether One Channel Is Weak

A faded page is more useful diagnostically once you know whether one CMYK channel is weak or all four channels look reduced.

One color is much weaker than the others

Use the line row and solid field for that same channel. Agreement across both zones is more useful than judging a photograph of a normal document whose original colors are unknown.

All colors look pale

Before treating that as four simultaneous channel faults, confirm the print mode, paper/media type and quality setting. A controlled retest should use the same paper and settings so any change is comparable.

The photo itself can create false fading

Broad shadow or uneven illumination can make a healthy printed field look weak. The analyzer checks capture quality and should favor a retake when the photo is not safe enough to measure.

What the color score can and cannot say

The browser compares relative channel response. It can flag gross weakness; it does not measure professional color accuracy, ICC performance or Delta E.
