About Printer Vitals

Printer Vitals is a measurement-first utility for common color inkjet print problems. It combines a standardized physical test page with browser-based image analysis so troubleshooting starts with repeatable evidence instead of a random document.

What the tool is built to do

The current engine measures four controlled zones: K/C/M/Y line continuity, horizontal banding and density drift, print-to-paper geometry, and relative channel health. Capture quality is evaluated separately from printer findings.

Why the analyzer can reject a photo

A difficult image can create fake printer symptoms. Crop, severe blur, marker loss, glare, strong lighting gradients and local page warp are treated as capture problems when the information is no longer reliable. In those cases Printer Vitals asks for a retake rather than forcing a diagnosis.

What the tool does not claim

• One printed line element is not claimed to equal one physical nozzle.
• Channel health is relative, not calibrated Delta E or ICC colorimetry.
• The current diagnostic scope is color inkjet output, not laser drum/fuser diagnosis.
• A probable cause is not a guarantee of the exact failed hardware component.

Software validation

The frozen analyzer has been tested against controlled clean prints, injected defect morphologies and adverse capture conditions. The purpose of that acceptance testing is to catch software regressions and false positives while preserving conservative capture rejection.
