Lines on a print can look similar even when the underlying pattern is different. A controlled page helps distinguish broken line elements from repeatable banding.

Horizontal lines or missing pattern elements
If isolated elements in one color channel are broken while the others are clean, the finding is more consistent with channel-specific ink delivery or printhead/nozzle dropout.
Repeated bands across several colors
When several channels show a similar repeated horizontal pattern, print quality settings, paper feed or other common factors become more plausible.
Use one change at a time
Run one conservative maintenance step, wait if the manufacturer recommends it, then print the exact same test again. Comparing like-for-like is more useful than repeatedly cleaning without measurement.
How to run the test
- Print the official sheet at 100% / Actual Size, Color, Plain Paper, Normal quality.
- Place the full sheet on a dark surface in even light.
- Take a sharp photo with all four paper edges visible.
- Upload it to the browser analyzer.
- Make one conservative change, then retest using the same settings.
